Introduction to Russian Music: Part 2

Earlier, I had promised I would introduce some of the best ladies of our music industry (IMHO). Some got famous for talent, some for beauty, and others for both talent and beauty.

That is why, I am inviting you to check out my five favorite Russian female singers in today’s music industry!

Elka (Ёлка)

Elka (Russian for pinetree) is a young singer at the top of her career. She became popular for her charisma, originality, and well… unbelievable vocals.

Chi-Li (Чи-Ли)

Chi-Li is a popular Russian band since 2005. The main singer and founder of the band is the redhead Irina Zabiyaka, who conquered millions of fans with her unforgettable voice and beauty.

Ani Lorak (Ани Лорак)

Karolina Kuiek, better known under her stage name Ani Lorak (the name Karolina read backwards) is a pop singer, songwriter, and actress. Lorak represented Ukraine at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Shady Lady and came 2nd. Today she’s got a successful career in Russia and is ranked as one of the most beautiful women from Eastern Europe. What are you waiting for… take a look yourself!

And another one…

Vera Brezhneva (Вера Брежнева)

Born in Ukrainian Soviet Union in 1982, she is a famous pop-singer, presenter, and actress. This blonde hottie got her fame when she joined a female pop band Nu Virgos (ВИА Гра) in 2003. In 2007, she started her solo career.

Maksim (МакSим)

Born in 1983, Maksim (Marina Sergeevna Abrosimova) is a singer, songwriter, and music producer. Her career sprung in 2006, when her album Difficult Age (Трудный возраст) sold more than two million copies. The next year, she became the most commercially successful female singer in Russia.
