There are probably only two things you should know about me…
- I love writing.
- I love Russia.
What? That wasn’t enough? Okay, I’ll tell more for the extra curious ones.
I am a nineteen (EDIT: now twenty-one) year old that started this blog for a school project… but what began as a simple school project developed into my new passion… the passion of a future journalist. Yes, I am passionate about both Russia and writing, hence the blog. With it, I aim to grow as a writer while writing about my culture, the one belonging to the very enigmatic land of Russia, as Winston Churchill stated, “Russia is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.”
Well, maybe this blog of mine will help us all delve into this mystery.
If you are reading this, I am eternally thankful. Every new visitor, like, comment, or follower – I do a victory dance, literally consisting of falling off my seat and sort of wiggling on the ground for a while. Yes, I’m a weirdo, aren’t we all?
If you wish to know more about the reasons behind my blog…check out my introductory post Why this blog?
Здравствуйте! I’m a big fan of the Russian singer Витас. From his songs, I started to become interested in Russian art and language. The quote of Issac Levitan “What can be more tragic than to feel ….” is one of my favorite ones. And I also like the songs of Алла Пугачёва. They are so beautiful and graceful! Anyway, I just found your blog today and I’m very excited. I’ve bookmarked your blog. :)) Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
I am a 19 year old in America who desperately wants to get to Russia at some point in the next few years.

Hello! I’m so pleased to have found your beautiful blog! I have a huge admiration for Russia and its rich culture, historical aspects and people, fact which made me start to study the Russian language still in my college days, but I’m a beginner yet…

Don’t tell Canada I said this, but the best Hockey players come out of Russia. As a Detroit native, I’m a huge Red Wings fan from way back. I’m sure if you’re into hockey, it would be hard to forget the Russian 5…
Pavel Bure, Pavel Datsyuk, Alex Kovalev…I could go on all night.
Yes! And Vladislav Tretiak too ;) Oh god, I could on all night as well. By the way, you gave me a great idea for my blog… I should write about Hockey! Thanks
Brilliant! Looking forward to reading more of your work!
Thanks for the follow! ;)
Ya zhelayu vam uspekha. Blagodarim vas za poseshcheniye.

Hello, my name is Henckel. I have a blog on Word Press called Dough and I am creating an app for the blog. I was wondering if you could view my blog; it would mean a lot to me. If you want to check out the blog directly here is the link, http://garipla.wordpress.com/ . I also have a Facebook page by the same name. If you dont like my blog enough to follow or my Facebook page at least you have looked.
I just saw your comment, therefore excuse me for the late reply. I’ll make sure to check it out :)
lol, its better late than never. Thank you for commenting.
Sorry, for some reason your comments always go into the spam folder… so I have to rescue them from there! But problem is that I don’t always check the spam folder… I believe WordPress has something against you.. lol
lol, yikes.
oui bien sûr c’est ma langue maternelle
Oh la la !
Congratulations, I just nominated you for One Lovely Blog Award: http://esengasvoice.wordpress.com/2012/09/19/one-lovely-blog-award/
I enjoy dipping into your blog…to open and read one or the other of the posts written before. And either it is about Russian people, баня, квас or smell of the forest back home(scenery from “Долгая дорога в дюнах” just flashed in my mind), they bring back many endearing, colourful and a touch nostalgic memories from those days in the past. Ералаш, 1 tea bag for 2 cups of tea, сметана that goes with everything, дачa…so many details that can’ t not smile about. You have a gift of painting vivid pictures with words, and it is very much enjoyed. Thank you, Inna.
No, thank YOU for such warm words! I am thrilled to have wonderful readers like you!
LOL! :) “…literally fall off my seat and sort of wiggle on the ground for a while.” Now that’s funny! I totally get what you are saying about how people view you. If you’ve heard or read anything about the southern U.S., you know how wicked stereotypes can be. I think what is important is how we view ourselves. Write on, lady. Write on!!
LOL thank you! I feel very pleased if I make someone laugh. And yes, that’s why I created this blog – I feel like I have a lot to write about. I really appreciate your comment… and visit :D
P.S. Southern U.S. is awesome. End of story.
It looks like a really special blog here, and I have only dipped in for a minute or two so far, but your intro is superbly dosed, and your attention to detail is exquisite – and can be seen by your Gravatar photo. I am looking forward to really looking through this blog! Thanks.
Thank you so much for your warm words. I feel all fuzzy knowing that some one out there appreciates my humble blogging!
Hi there! I think your blog is really great, so I’ve nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award :)
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! Means a lot, lot.
What a beautiful blog!
Aww thank you so much! Means a lot!
thanks for visiting my blog & thanks more for the invite. I am really enjoying Russia ;)
Spasibo ;)
